Education lies at the heart of The Charles A. Boakai Educational Foundation’s mission. We believe every child—regardless of background, ability, or circumstance—deserves access to meaningful learning opportunities that can shape a brighter future. Through our education initiatives, we work to make learning accessible, inclusive, and impactful for children and youth across Minnesota and surrounding communities.
Our foundation organizes weekly educational camps for children, including those with learning or developmental challenges, ensuring that every child receives consistent support and a solid foundation in primary education. We also provide essential school supplies—such as notebooks, textbooks, pencils, and writing boards—to public schools throughout Minnesota to help students succeed in the classroom.
Understanding that learning thrives in a healthy and supportive environment, we also ensure clean drinking water is available for students, distribute school uniforms to children from low-income families, and provide healthy, nutritious lunches to help them stay focused and energized throughout the school day.
Education goes beyond academics. Our civic education programs help students understand democracy, human rights, and responsible citizenship. By encouraging participation in policy discussions, leadership activities, and community service, we work to nurture informed young leaders who will contribute to a fair, inclusive, and democratic Minnesota.
Beyond primary education, the foundation also offers vocational training programs that equip youth with practical, job-ready skills that lead to employment and long-term independence. For students in remote or underserved areas, we provide digital and online learning opportunities, ensuring that distance or lack of access never becomes a barrier to quality education.
Through all these initiatives, we are building not just classrooms—but futures filled with knowledge, confidence, and opportunity for the children and youth of Minnesota.
